Chinese Herbal Medicine Study Program 2019
Taught by Dr. Christine Cannon, this program is an in-depth study of the clinical application of Chinese herbs and formulas. The material is presented in such a way as to promote learning and embracing Chinese herbal medicine in a practical, simplified way for beginning students as well as seasoned practitioners and educators.
In this Chinese herbal medicine study program, the material is presented in such a way as to promote learning and embracing Chinese herbal medicine in a practical, simplified way for beginning students, as well as seasoned practitioners and educators.Students will learn theoretical principles of the use of Chinese herbal medicine and how to utilize the various forms that may include decoction, powder, or pills. Modules will cover herb categories and their related formulas. Specific herbs and formulas commonly used in conteporary practice will be covered, prioritizing the primary most effective herb, as well as the less commonly used, but useful secondary herbs and formulas. Relevant theoretical, diagnostic, clinical information and "treatment tips" for each category will be covered. Modules include documented and academically agreed upon cautions and contraindications.
The final portion of the program includes a comprehensive review and examination to access competency. Case studies include mentoring and reflect student experiences outside of class.
